PNG to WebP
Upload a PNG image, choose the quality, and download the converted WebP file.
Not sure? Turn your internet off and try — it still works.
How it works
All processing happens locally, in your browser. Your image is never sent to any server, which keeps things more private and secure. The image is decoded and recompressed as WebP, at the chosen quality level. PNG transparency is preserved. WebP typically produces much smaller files than PNG for the same visual content. Lower quality shrinks the file but can leave visible artifacts; for screenshots with text, choose a higher quality. Current browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari) display WebP, but some older editing programs still can't open the format.
