Question 1

Is Kastavo free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every tool is free, with no sign-up and no hidden limits. To keep the site running, it may display ads, but using the tools doesn't require payment or an account.

Question 2

Are my files and text sent to a server?

Accepted Answer

No. The tools run entirely in your browser: files, text and values are processed in your device's memory and are not sent to Kastavo. Some tools download public components they need to work into your browser (such as the OCR text-recognition engine), but it is always a download to you — your content never travels the other way.

Question 3

Do the tools work offline?

Accepted Answer

Most do: once the page has loaded, processing is local and keeps working even without internet. Eleven tools, however, load an extra library or model only the first time you use a feature and need a connection that first time: Extract Text from Image (OCR), Split PDF, Rotate PDF, Extract PDF Pages, Remove PDF Pages, Reorder PDF Pages, PDF to JPG, PDF to PNG, HTML to PDF Converter, Commercial Proposal Generator (when generating the PDF) and HTML, CSS & JavaScript Minifier (JavaScript tab only). If you have already used the feature during this visit, it keeps working without internet; the site itself, however, needs a connection to open.

Question 4

Does Kastavo collect any data about me?

Accepted Answer

Not from the content you process in the tools. The site uses Google Analytics to measure visits in aggregate (such as pages visited, device type and traffic source) and uses cookies or your browser's local storage to remember simple preferences, such as language and theme. The details are in the Privacy Policy.

Question 5

Does Kastavo show ads?

Accepted Answer

The site may display Google AdSense ads to cover the costs of keeping it running. When ads are shown, they follow the consent rules of your region, and you can manage your preferences, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Question 6

Which browsers are supported?

Accepted Answer

Any modern browser, such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, with JavaScript enabled, on desktop, tablet or mobile. Some tools, such as the video ones, use recent browser features and may not be available in older versions. The Technical Requirements page has the details.

Question 7

How do I suggest a new tool?

Accepted Answer

Through the Suggest a tool page or by writing to contact@kastavo.com. Tell us which task you want to solve and, if you can, give an example of how you do it today.

Question 8

I found an error in a calculation. How do I report it?

Accepted Answer

Write to contact@kastavo.com and tell us which tool you used, the values you entered, the result that appeared and what you expected. With that information it is much easier to reproduce and fix the problem.

Question 9

Can I trust the results for important decisions?

Accepted Answer

The tools are built to help with everyday tasks and use standardized formulas and conversion factors, but Kastavo doesn't guarantee they are free of errors. In professional, academic, financial, medical or legal contexts, check the result before using it. The Terms of Use explain this point.

Question 10

Who maintains Kastavo?

Accepted Answer

Kastavo is maintained by Michel Davi, a developer based in Betim, Minas Gerais, Brazil. You can find more details on the About page.
